Examination and Certification

How are WSET exams conducted?


Exams for Levels 1 and 2 can be taken in-person or online through a remote invigilation service. Level 3 requires in-person examinations on scheduled dates.


When will I receive my exam results?


Exams are marked at WSET headquarters in London. The results are sent to us and we then forward them to students. The timing may vary based on the level of the course (4-12 weeks) and the volume of exams being processed.


When will I receive my certificate and lapel pin?


Within 50 days of receiving your exam result.

Online Learning

Are there online courses available?


Yes, most WSET courses are available online through WSET's Online Classroom, which includes a mix of video content, quizzes, and tasting exercises. Please refer to https://www.berlinwineschool.com/online.


How does tasting work in online courses?


For online courses, students are required to source their own tasting samples. Guidance on recommended styles is provided, and students will share their tasting notes for feedback from instructors.

Course Structure

How long does it take to complete the classroom courses?


- WSET Level 1: 1-day course with a multiple-choice exam.

- WSET Level 2: 3- or 4-day course with a multiple-choice exam.

- WSET Level 3: 6- or 7-day course with a theory and tasting exam.

- WSG Spanish Wine Scholar: 4-day course with a multiple-choice exam

- SSA Introductory Sake Professional: 3-hour course.

What is the Berlin Wine School?
