  • Karthäuserhof – mastering cool climate viticulture

The legendary Karthäuserhof estate is a place of fairy tales. Overlooking the sublime Ruwer valley, they are the eighth oldest winegrowing estate in the world. Officially founded as a monastery in 1335, this “Farm of the Carthusians” was given as a gift to the monks of the Carthusian order by Prince-Elector Balduin of Luxembourg. Since 1811, the Karthäuserhof has been in the hands of the same family.

The Karthäuserhof vineyard in Trier is renowned for its unique terroir: centuries-old vines, mineral-rich soils in the Ruwer Valley (Mosel-Saar-Ruwer), and steep slopes. This combination produces Riesling wines of exceptional elegance and finesse that are appreciated worldwide.

Join our guest speaker Kevin Kleu, head of sales and marketing at Karthäuserhof in celebrating their heritage. We will taste through a range of wines across different vintages to get a glimpse into knowledge and skills that are applied in challenging vine growing conditions of the Ruwer.
Most definitely there will be eye-opening moments when we see how extreme temperatures, humidity and rainfall are skillfully managed to consistently produce excellent wines.

We look forward to seeing you!
