Exploring Biodynamic, Low-Intervention Wines in Vipava Valley

Hi everyone,

I’ve been exploring biodynamic and low-intervention wines in the Vipava Valley in Slovenia recently, and I’m absolutely captivated by the region. The area is stunning, with a unique microclimate that seems perfect for producing vibrant, expressive wines with minimal intervention.

One winery that really stands out is Burja Estate. They’ve fully embraced biodynamic principles to create truly distinctive wines that reflect the local terroir. I recently tried their Burja Bela, which was absolutely delightful – fresh, complex, and so expressive of the region.

I’m curious – do any of you have recommendations for other biodynamic or low-intervention producers in the Vipava Valley? Or perhaps on the Italian side, in the Friuli region? I’d love to discover more hidden gems, especially from winemakers who focus on letting the land and climate speak for themselves.

Looking forward to your suggestions! 🍷
