Battle of the Barrels

Hi Everyone!

I’m hosting a friendly tasting of Slovenian and Spanish natural wines next Tuesday, 15th of July 2025.

Natural Selection and Nosh wines are pulling 3 wines from each of their portfolios and we’re having the people decide which wines will come out on top.

There will also be spot prizes for those who can correctly match the wine to it’s country.

Tickets are here! https://naturalselection.wine/products/Nosh-x-Natural-Selection-15-07-p764178711

Feel free to get in touch with any questions.

Introducing the ā€œWines of the Worldā€ Series!

We’re excited to launch the ā€œWines of the Worldā€, a new series created for the Berlin Wine School Groups community.

Starting this month, we will explore key wine regions and grape varieties with the content from the national and regional wine associations from around the world. Their support for our knowledge-sharingĀ effortsĀ at Groups is crucial in ensuring access to reliable and up-to-date information.

You will be able to discover the unique expression, history, and character of different wine-producing countries and regions, gaining an understanding of what truly sets their wines apart.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Weekly posts in the ā€œWine General Discussionā€

  • Country overviews highlighting key regions and varieties with links to external resources for deeper learning.

WSET L3 Tasting Exam Grading and how to get full marks

Understanding how the WSET L3 Tasting Exam is assessed can significantly increase your chances of success.

The examination will consist of two blind wines and will assess a candidate’s ability to accurately describe a wine and draw conclusions based on these observations. The tasting examination must be completed in 30 minutes.

In order to get full marks, you need to closely follow the L3 Systematic Approach to Tasting - marks are awarded based on how accurately and consistently you apply it.

This is how marks are distributed:

The tasting exam is worth 41 marks in total. To pass the tasting paper, you need at least 55% (i.e., 23/50).
